Cottage Keeping is the weekly update that includes my thoughts on my real life and some of my favorite bits of info I’ve found around the web this week! Thanks for stopping by!
The Cottage Keeper’s Thoughts:
I need an office with a door, STAT! Seriously, with the kids home for summer, there is absolutely no privacy in my life. I’ve accomplished very little this week because I’ve been so distracted by them and their constant movement, neediness, and noise. I’m going to go to the library or Panera later this afternoon and tomorrow, just to try to get a little bit of work done without so many distractions.
Cocoa, our almost 14-year-old Shih Tzu, was officially diagnosed with Canine Cognitive Dysfunction (doggy dementia) this week. His sleep issues are more than likely directly related to his declining cognitive function. Unfortunately, his sleep issues have become my sleep issues which may be another reason why I’m struggling to stay focused on my actual work. It’s like I have a newborn baby in the house again.
My son started his first real job at Little Caesar’s last week. (Pizza! Pizza!) It’s been really odd for him to be gone so much, but I’m proud of him for getting himself to and from work and keeping up with all of his XC training, too.
The word is out that our family is staying put in Auburn, AL for the foreseeable future. One day I’ll share how we came to this decision. We never intended to stay here beyond our 2-year assignment, but God has made it really apparent to us that our time here needs to be extended.
This week on the blog, I shared the week 5 update on our One Room Challenge Game Day Porch Makeover. I’ll likely post week 6’s update tomorrow. Not a whole lot has happened out there between this week and last, but I’ll update the little things, nonetheless!
What The Cottage Keeper is Loving This Week:
We tried these Air Fryer Donuts last weekend and they got rave reviews by all the Wade children!
My youngest daughter, who is very picky, tried these ham sliders at a friend’s and now they are on our regular rotation.
