It’s Thursday, April 2nd, in case you’ve lost track of what day it is.
These are such strange times for all of us, kind of like living in a never ending Groundhog’s Day! You remember that movie with Bill Murray? In conversations with friends, when trying to decide when to schedule Zoom calls, we’ve laughed that we are available every single night of the week – as long as our kids are in bed!
Our calendars are completely clear, except for a birthday or new online schooling deadlines! Every morning, we roll out of bed and wonder what we’re going to do to keep ourselves busy for the day. The one constant in our lives is everyone still wants to eat!
With all of my people home – all of the time – we are eating all of the food! And in my effort to not have to answer the “What’s for dinner?” question 10x a day, I created a printable menu that I can hang on the refrigerator that everyone can read with their own eyes. It’s also helpful for days when I’m doing something around dinner time, like delivering birthday surprises to friends or finally getting on the treadmill after procrastinating all day, my husband knows what he can prep. He’s good at biscuits, pancakes, and tacos!
I know there are meal plan printables out there, but not all have 7 days of the week and since we are eating every lunch at home, too, I wanted space to write my kids’ lunch options. I’m all about enabling my kids to be independent so they’re responsible for making their own lunches every day. The clean up part is still a struggle, thought!
Before social distancing, I would write my dinner plans in my planner. Honestly, I’ve only opened my planner once or twice lately since I don’t have any appointments to remember! I did erase all of the events off of the April page yesterday, a both depressing and freeing task.
Feel free to download my Menu Plan printable and give it a try! I’ve gotta go get my chicken out of the freezer for tonight’s dinner!
