Cottage Keeping is my weekly post where I talk about my week and share my favorite DIYs, home decor, recipes, and other great posts from around the web.
We’re in what can only be referred to as one of our busy seasons.
Between track meets, soccer practices and games, work trips, helping with a college retreat a couple of weekends ago and simply trying to keep this house from slipping into overwhelming chaos and all these people fed, I’m spent…
They say one day I’m going to miss this chaos. I’m sure I will, but it’s a lot to keep up with right now.
This week I get to put my organizer hat back on and teach an organizing workshop to some moms in a low-income housing community here in Auburn. We’ve fallen in love with Our House, a local ministry that pours into these kids and families. At the beginning of the year, I felt some stirring in my heart to do more for these families but wasn’t sure what that looked like until one of the staff members from this ministry called me and asked me if I’d be interested in doing this workshop.
No way to deny that this was God working in both of our hearts! So once I finish this post, I’ll be working on my presentation for this special group of moms.
I do have a little bit of Easter prep to do today, as well. Gotta decide what we’re having for Easter brunch and find a few things to put in my man-child boys’ easter pails. I’m thinking gas cards may be the best gift I could give these two.
This week on the blog, I shared my design plan for our master bedroom makeover. There are a few pieces of furniture I’ll be enlisting my family to construct as we get ready for this week’s update!
What the Cottage Keeper is reading:
This is the 5th book in Karen White’s Tradd Street Series.
I started reading this series in December when I bought the first book as an airplane read while in VA on a work trip. I’ve pretty much read the other books in the series as my elliptical entertainment.
I stumbled upon Karen White last summer when I decided I was going to read more during the summer while our schedules were more relaxed.
What the Cottage Keeper is Eating:
At the beginning of the year, we ventured into the Mediterranean way of eating. If you know anything about time, you’ll know that I am always on a diet of some sort. ALWAYS…We’ll talk more about that later.
One of our favorite recipes we’ve tried on our Mediterranean journey was this Greek Sheet Pan Chicken Dinner.
My only deviation from the recipe is to make the chicken and the vegetables on separate pans. Otherwise, I thought my vegetables were too soggy from the chicken juices.
Serve it with a side of rice or pearl couscous and it’s delish!
What the Cottage Keeper is Loving:
