Welcome to the first edition of Cottage Keeping – the post where the keeper of the cottage (that’s me, Jen) shares some of her thoughts from the week and also highlights some of the best things I’ve seen around the web in the past few days!
My Thoughts This Week:
1 – Watching this YouTube video was a big highlight of my week. I may have watched it more than once because the young guy’s mannerisms remind me so much of my oldest son. All the way to his comment about his experience being “cringey.”
2 – I spend way more time in the kitchen than I would like! Why do my kids think they need to eat so much? One of their favorite meals is this Baked French Toast concoction! I don’t do a very good job of restraining myself from just eating the unbaked, but soaked in sugar and egg pieces!
3 – I’m a good project starter, but not a very good project finisher! I’ve tried to chip away at some of my little projects from my 2021 Home Goals this week. However, I now have 3 other unfinished projects littering various corners of my house! Ugg!
4 – It just dawned on me that my kids only have 9 weeks of school left for this insane year! How did that happen? Summer will be here way too soon! But with the warmer weather, I’ll be able to wear the cute rompers I found on Amazon a couple of weeks ago!
5 – I’m loving these little lamps (see picture below) I found at the Dollar General this week. I never go to the Dollar General, but had time to kill one day this week and saw these. I didn’t buy them on my first visit so I had to go back and get them today.

Do tell about those Dollar General lamps…battery operated? Low price? I am intrigued.

They were $12 and are battery-operated. Aren’t they cute? I’m going to paint a stack of books to put under them, but that’s going to go on my unfinished project list for now. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Oh I have so many unfinished projects! I’ve been trying to finish some of them to make my husband feel less bothered by them – hah! I’m putting that baked french toast on my list of recipes to try soon. Thx for the idea!

Thanks so much for featuring my banana bread! We are in the same club…the easy to start but hard to finish club;) And those rompers look adorable!!!!!!

You’re welcome! I can’t wait to try your recipe. I’m going to have to reserve bananas specifically for it since my kids devour bananas!
