Easy Valentine’s Decorations for Your Home

We like to keep things simple at our home, including holiday decor. I hope you enjoy these ideas for easy Valentine’s decorations for your home!

Once the Christmas trees are finally down, the last thing I want to do is add extra visual clutter to the house. However, as my youngest daughter gets older, I realize that the days of her enjoying all the fun holiday decor are fading away.

The last couple of years, with moving and working full time, I’m not sure I’ve even opened my Valentine’s Day Decor boxes. This year, I was intent on opening them up, if nothing else just to see what I have been hoarding!

My Thoughts on Easy Valentine’s Decorations

Red door with a green boxwood wreath with a pink heart and love written in red cursive letters. Easy Valentine's Day Decorations

Start with a Valentine’s Day Wreath

The first, and super simple, way to add Valentine’s Day decor is to add a red and pink wreath to the front door.

I bought the supplies for this wreath several weeks ago, but it took me until February 13th to get it to the point where the heart wasn’t going to fall off at the first slam of the front door. Not that anyone at our house would ever slam the front door!

Surprisingly, until this year, I’ve never owned a Valentine’s Day wreath!

I also add this red and white striped rug to the porch to play off the red and pink wreath.

Just call me Cupid’s assistant!

Add Red and White Items to a Tiered Tray

Are we still decorating tiered trays? Who can keep up with the comings and goings of all the decorating styles and trends?

Tiered Trays, in style or out, are a great way to add a variety of festive touches to a space.

For Valentine’s Day Decor, simply round up all the red and white stuff!

Jars.

Vases.

Dollar Spot Mailboxes.

Pink and Red Tchotchkes.

I love a little bit of greenery thrown tossed around my trays for a bit of texture!

Once Valentine’s Day is past, the trays can be filled with your regular decor again and all this red and white can be put in a bin or used for other red and white holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July and Christmas!

Create a Simple Valentine’s Day Centerpiece with Heart-Shaped Candy

I shouldn’t take credit for this. My daughter is actually the mastermind behind making these heart-shaped candy vases. I’m sure she saw this on YouTube!

These simple Valentine’s Day Decorations require a large vase and a smaller vase for the inside, a few bags of heart-shaped candy and some flowers.

I know yellow roses don’t scream Valentine’s Day decor, but I bought these because my daughter’s favorite color is yellow. The day I finished these vases was the same day as her birthday slumber party. The yellow roses were in her honor!

Red, White, and Pink Mugs = An Easy Valentine’s Decoration

Mug racks are a naturally simple way to add holiday colors to the home.

I already had these red and white mugs on the rack for Christmas.

Adding a few pink mugs created the perfect Easy Valentine’s Decorations combination for the kitchen!

These pink mugs were about $1.25 a piece from IKEA, including shipping! They were hard to pass up.

A little bit of greenery and a pink and white bead garland and this mug rack now screams Valentine’s Day to me!

Embrace Faux Flowers for Easy Valentine’s Decorations

I have never been afraid of Faux Flowers!

The bouquets I’m using for Valentine’s Day decor are actually all from Walmart!

I’ve had this bright pink bouquet for several years now and they still look fabulous. They’re a great pop of color in the middle of my living room.

This paler pink-apricottish bouquet, I just picked up from Walmart last week.

I was hoping to find something similar to the bright pink ones in the living room, but these caught my eye. Honestly, I love them!

Perfectly Easy Valentine’s Decorations

There’s still time to add Valentine’s Day Decor to your home!

Grab a bouquet of flowers at the grocery store.

Add red or pink ribbon to a green wreath on the front door.

Put a bag of red wrapped heart-shaped chocolate in a jar on your kitchen counter.

Light a red candle.

It doesn’t take much to create a little Valentine’s Day Decor magic in our homes!

I’ve been working for the weekend? How ‘bout y I’ve been working for the weekend? How ‘bout you?

Anyone have a living room you don’t really live in?

That was us until last week!

An uncomfortable couch and seating arrangement is one way to keep everyone out of the living room!

Not any more!

Our new sectional is a draw to have people linger in the living room!

My only regret in this whole thing is not buying this sectional earlier and maybe spending a lot of my life not using much color in my house!

You’ll find us sprawled out watching the WCWS this weekend right here on this goldish couch!

What are you watching these days?

It’s the beginning of a weekend all about rememb It’s the beginning of a weekend all about remembering the sacrifices of men and women who have served our country at the cost of their lives. We will never forget or take their sacrifices for granted.

As a way of remembering, let’s deck our homes in red, white and blue for the next few weeks.

On the blog, I share some easy ways to do just that!

I gave myself about two weeks to transform my son’s room before he came home for the summer after his first year away at @milliganuniversity.

Every waking moment of “free time” I’ve had, I’ve spent painting, walking 3 flights of stairs to cut and recut 1x2s for this blue wall, and hoping I actually walked into the right store to pick up this buffalo print!

I love this transformation so much! Can’t wait for him to spend the summer under our roof. Looks like he may be adding a set of crutches as a decor element. I may have to paint them blue!

Happy Monday! I love this reminder of Grace upon Happy Monday!

I love this reminder of Grace upon Grace.

It’s impossible to “do it all.” And ALL means different things to different people.

We’ve got to set reasonable expectations of ourselves and our families or we will live in constant defeat.

As a perfectionist, giving myself grace is hard, but I’m working on it!

Where are you going to give yourself grace this week?

I’ve spent a lot of time lately organizing hidde I’ve spent a lot of time lately organizing hidden spaces in my house. We’ve lived in this house for about 16 months. Seems much longer!

So many closets and drawers that we have just thrown things in and let them live there for the time being.

Settling into a home takes time and trial and error. It’s an ongoing, ever changing process!

It requires figuring out how we use the space.
Where we tend to set things down.
Where our clutter tends to gather.
Who needs access to what and when!

So beware closets, drawers and things hiding under beds and in corners of closets - I’m coming for you!
