The master bedroom is often the most overlooked and neglected space in our homes. We get excited about setting up our babies’ nurseries and then upgrading them to a big boy or big girl room. This master bedroom design will get you excited to refresh your master bedroom decor.
We spend time and money making sure all the common areas of our homes are pretty and inviting – the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Yet, when it comes to the one space in our homes that should be the most important place – the place where the adults in the family rest, relax, and retreat from the pressures and stresses of every day – our bedrooms, the master bedroom, is last on the list!
Maybe that’s just the case in my house, but I doubt it. Let’s commit to creating sanctuaries for ourselves in our master bedrooms! Deal?!?
We bought black bedroom furniture in 2008 or so when black furniture was on trend! It’s survived several moves, 4 kids, 2 dogs, and now it’s just tired and dated. But I’m in this in-between stage of trying to force myself to endure the black furniture for another 18 months or so. I think I can! I think I can!
The bedding and curtains have been changed out countless times, but nothing distracts the big black monstrous furniture that well.
This green Novogratz bed, available from various online retailers, pops up every single day in my Facebook feed and I’ve become a little bit obsessed! I love green and it’s just so different from what I currently have. This bed is taunting me so it naturally became the perfect backdrop for this week’s Mood Board Monday!
How sweet is this color palette? You already know I’m a sucker for navy blue, but throw in a little chambray and I turn to mush! Honestly, every time I start decorating a room, I have to search chambray x, y, or z first! It’s just my habit now. Curtains, bedding, chairs. You name it!
True story – when I was single and dreaming of my own home, denim furniture was all the rage! I still dream of a big, overstuffed denim sofa. I’m sharing all my secrets here. I’m surprised you keep coming back for more!
Something else I’m loving these days is printable art from Etsy! So many talented artists offer a huge variety of art, in all shapes, colors, and sizes. It’s a very affordable option for changing out artwork frequently. Heck, I even spray paint the picture frames when I get new artwork printed. If you need a new time-consuming rabbit hole, searching for printable artwork on Etsy is definitely that!
