Cottage Keeping

Cottage Keeping #35

Cottage Keeping is my weekly post where I talk about my week and share my favorite DIYs, home decor, recipes, and other great posts from around the web.

The Cottage Keeper’s Thoughts:

I’m writing this from a condo in Gulf Shores, AL. We’ve been here for the past few days for the Alabama High School State Track Meet. I’m trying not to think about the fact that at around 9 am today (Saturday), Bailey will have run his final high school track event. As sad as that seems, I’m so ready for him to move on to run at the collegiate level next year. The best really is yet to come!

Gulf Shores is a hidden little gem on the coast of Alabama, but don’t tell anyone I said so. This is our first trip down here to the actual beach and I’m already planning a trip back. The feel is so different than the 30A-PCB-Destin area that is way too popular! Or maybe I just need to plan a May beach trip so there are fewer people at the beach.

Jenna Beth’s club soccer team has reconvened to play a tournament this weekend. Thankful for friends who have let her tag along while we’re at this track meet. If I’m feeling up to it, I may drive to the other side of the state to see their game on Sunday. I’m a glutton for punishment, aren’t I?

My big project for the week – besides my ongoing master bedroom project – is creating some sort of centerpieces for the track banquet. Gonna have to force my kids to drink a lot of Gatorade so I can use the bottles as vases. I’ll likely be pulling some late nights trying to get these ready by Thursday. I’ll share pictures of the final product, I promise!

On the blog this week: I gave a weekly update on the master bedroom update project I’ve been working on for a few weeks. I also did some editing on an old Bathroom Organization post! Go check both of those out!

What the Cottage Keeper is Loving:

What are you loving this week? Here are a few things that have inspired me!

I’m back on a cauliflower kick at my house! I’m gonna add this BBQ Chicken & Cauliflower Rice Casserole into the rotation! Doesn’t this look delicious?

The weather is getting warmer and I’m itching to host some outdoor parties. That means we need to string some lights across the backyard and we need to have this delicious Mexican Food Charcuterie Board!

Board and Batten is on the list of things to do in my master bedroom. Here’s a great Easy Board & Batten how-to.

We’ll be celebrating an Army promotion this summer so I’m starting to think about decor and am loving this Ribbon American Flag! How cute is this for all of our upcoming patriotic celebrations?
