Cottage Keeping #25

Cottage Keeping is my weekly round-up including what’s happening in my real life and some of my favorite things I’ve found around the web this week! I’m talking DIY’s, recipes, home decor, organizing tips, and more!

The Cottage Keeper’s Thoughts:

Jenna Beth and I are spending this afternoon in a hotel room outside of Atlanta resting up from an early morning of soccer! Her team ended up with a loss and a tie. She actually scored their tying goal, which was the first goal she’s scored since last August, we think. We’re just grateful to see her team of sweet girls back on the field kicking the ball around!

As of Thursday evening, we no longer own property in the “Great State!” It’s bitter-sweet, but also a bit of a relief to not have a rental property hanging over us.

In the Facebook group, we’ve spent most of August talking about organizing our closets. I’ve added a few of my favorite closet organizing products to my Shop page for your convenience.

A week ago, I spent time updating my resumè. I’ve not had a need for a resumè for almost 15 years. I’m not sure I really need one now, but I guess it’s good to have a starting point should an opportunity too good to pass up come my way. I’ll explain why I did this before long.

Every morning I mix a little hot cocoa packet with my coffee. It’s “healthy” hot chocolate, in case you’re wondering! I use a little handheld frother to mix it up well. Our current one is barely hanging on so I ordered a new frother last week. It’s so much more powerful than the old one I have to use a taller cup to keep from splashing coffee all over the counter. I’m convinced everyone should own a frother!

Last week on the blog, I shared a tutorial on how I hung the curtains on my back porch. Also, if you missed my Spring One Room Challenge series, you can check it out to see the transformation we did to our back porch. Coming soon, I’ll share a quick DIY Wall Calendar project you can do if you need or want a large wall calendar!

Y’all know I’m always telling people the importance of purging! Here are 20 reasons to own less stuff that I can totally get on board with!

This stoneware dupe trick is totally on my list of things to do for decorating above my kitchen cabinets!

I love the idea of cloth napkins, but not the price tag! Here’s an inexpensive way to create your own cloth napkins from fabric!

In keeping with our dreams of fall, how about we take a look at these foraged fall wreaths!
