The Cottage Keeper’s Thoughts:
School’s Out For Summer! (sing it with me) My kids finished up their first year in a new school system during a pandemic and I couldn’t be more proud of how well all of them fared. New friends. New teams. New school buildings. New technology.
Last night, we hosted our first impromptu s’mores party with the neighborhood kid gang. It was the perfect ending to the first full day of summer break. I’ll have to keep a stockpile of s’more’s supplies on hand for the gang. These s’mores roasting sticks that we were given as a gift last summer have really come in handy!
I’ve had 3 different hairstyles this week! I don’t have pictures of the final product to prove it but will post soon. Thursday, I got my hair cut 2 times by 2 different people. First was an expensive cut at a well-referred salon and the second was a cut at Great Clips to get my hair to where I really wanted it to be!
Are you up for a decluttering challenge? I’ve challenged the members of my Facebook Group to part with 10 items this week. We’re going to check in on Monday to see who has been successful and what they’ve managed to let go of. I’d love for you to join us!
This was a busier week on the blog! I posted my week 2 and my week 3 update to the One Room Challenge. I talked about chairs and how we cleaned the back porch without a pressure washer. I also gathered lots of good Summer Fun Ideas for Kids to give all the mommas a reference guide for fun things to do on the hot days of summer!
What the Cottage Keeper is Loving This Week:
This Wendy’s Frosty Copy Cat ice cream is a favorite at our house during the summer!
Warmer weather calls for Iced Caramel Coffee you can make at home! Yum!
Anyone else need all the help you can get to keep the mosquitoes away? Here’s a simple tutorial for DIY Citronella Candles that I think I’m going to try with my girls soon.
Marie at This Dear Casa is talking about breaking up concrete as she transforms her backyard!
If you need a new dressing to try out on your summer salads, here’s a creamy balsamic vinaigrette that looks delicious!
Are you making these 5 organizing mistakes that are making your house look cluttered?
