I was recently provided with 2 youth sized Doctor Plotka’s Mouthwatchers toothbrushes to try. I had never heard of this product until I received an email from a  Mouthwatchers representative inquiring as to whether or not I would be interested in trying their product. I typically stockpile toothbrushes from various brands that I get basically free, using coupons at one of my favorite corner drugstores. I willingly accepted the offer to try these somewhat out of curiosity since we have no loyalty to a specific brand of toothbrush. I requested the youth sized toothbrush because I initially thought I would just let one of the kids use it and get their opinion. When there were two in my promotional package, I decided I might as well try it for myself. I’m glad I did!

The product promotional information makes 3 basic claims about the uniqueness of these toothbrushes.

1) They are invented by a dentist.

2) They have naturally antimicrobial bristles.

3) They have flossing bristles that clean and last longer.  

After using Doctor Plotka’s Mouthwatchers toothbrush for a week or so, I am pretty impressed. The first day I used it, I did notice that my teeth felt cleaner than after brushing with my other toothbrush, especially around my gum line. The teeny tiny bristles do seem to get into crevices that the typical plastic bristles of a regular toothbrush can’t squeeze inside. I also feel like the bristles are a lot softer than the average toothbrush. They are more flexible and gentle feeling. After using this toothbrush for several weeks now, I will definitely look into purchasing one in the future and rethink my thriftiness when it comes to buying toothbrushes.

JB used hers for the first time last night and she didn’t seem to have much to say about it. She just thought me taking pictures of her brushing her teeth was silly!
