The Cottage Keeper’s Thoughts:

My apologies for the absolute silence I provided last week. We had a mentally exhausting few days and I just wasn’t worth much of anything and definitely didn’t have any creativity flowing from anywhere.

Why was the week mentally exhausting? It began with discovering the house we were building’s (were is the keyword in this situation) foundation was framed facing the wrong street! We had never been informed that the plan we had selected would not fit on the lot we selected facing the right street! So we spent a few days trying to figure out how we were going to remedy this situation.

The builder’s representatives have all been extremely apologetic and basically, let us start all over again. So this week we chose a new lot, a new plan, and selected new interior finishes. We are really pleased with that new setup and view this all as a blessing in disguise.

In addition, I was anticipating a pretty life-changing phone call or email that came late Friday afternoon. I will be starting a new full-time position as an Accounts Payable Accountant in a few weeks. You can read all about this development here on the blog!

With that news out in the open, I’ll be closing up my in-person organizing services around October 13 and will take a few days off before I start my new venture on October 18th. But don’t worry! I’ll be ramping up my organizing posts here on the blog and will still operate my facebook group!

I’ve mentioned before that I am working on a pretty big update to the website. I have done a little bit of work on it, but have a ton more to do before it’s ready to go live.

Quite honestly, that’s about all I’ve had going on, other than working with clients, for the past couple of weeks. You can read all about my plans to do a major purge of my current home before we move into the house we’re building next spring.

Coming up soon, I’ll be tackling some shoe organization ideas and I’m working on a few posts related to organizing the abundance of kid stuff – clothes, toys, crafts, etc – that seems to accumulate in our homes.

Fall themed Entry table with 3 black and white pillows on bottom left shelf and a basket with a black and white blanket on the bottom right shelf. Top shelf has a tiered tray with fall themed decor and orange flowers. Middle of table has silver flower holder containing orange flower blooms and white pumpkins. A lamp is on the right side of the table. Behind the table is a large white window with a fall themed framed print.

Wowza … a full time job, an organizing business, and a blog! I’m in awe! Glad the house debacle worked out. A few years ago we built a house out of state and arrived more than a few times to be unpleasantly surprised. I won’t bore you with the details. But, all’s well. Happy weekend!
